9 McCusker's Cottage


The McCusker cottage is ideal for larger families looking to vacation on Tybee Island.  This well suite home sleeps 16 people.  Located 200 yards from Tybee's North beach area. Direct access to the beach with no main streets to cross.

This home was built in 1895 and is listed in the National Historic Register. Officers in the US Army were stationed here during World Wars I and II. The first floor features one bedroom, which is located just off the kitchen, and two full baths. There is a queen size bed in this bedroom, a separate air conditioner, and a private bath with a claw foot tub. Another full bath with a shower is near the den. The kitchen, living room, dining room, and den are on this level as well and all have original heart pine hardwood flooring. The beautifully remodeled full kitchen has granite countertops, high end appliances, and a CD player. There is seating for up to 14 people at the dining room table. There is a Flat Screened TV and a DVD in the den. A marvelous open porch graces three sides of this home with approximately 1500 square feet of outdoor living area.




There are three bedrooms and three full baths on the second floor, which also has about 1500 square feet of open porches. Each of the bedrooms on the second floor are abundantly sized, have tall celings, and transoms above the doors. The first bedroom on this level has a queen size bed; the second bedroom has a king size bed and a private bath with a claw foot tub; and the third bedroom has a king size bed with another private bath. The third full bath on this floor is at the end of the hall. Bedrooms number five and six are on the third floor with another full bath. There are two doubles and one twin in the fifth bedroom and one queen and one full in the sixth. All bedrooms, as well as the kitchen, living room, and downstairs hallway, have ceiling fans. This stately home is for the exclusive use of the guests. Parties and events such as weddings and graduation parties are not permitted.
